STORY
I created this still life as a response to a trying moment for our family. As I built the still life, stem by stem, I meditated on the scripture where Paul speaks on suffering. He says that despite my suffering, my joy knows no bounds. I thought about what it means to keep a joy-filled heart while it is also aching and to keep seeing the beauty despite what is dark and broken.
All these flowers are cut from my cottage garden with the exception of the red poppies. I foraged those from the field at the edge of our village.
PRINTING
A heavy-duty archival paper with a textured finish and a velvety matte surface that works brilliantly for limited editions. The paper has a warm white hue providing a perfect surface for fine art photography.
