Golden Hour at St Mary's Fine Art Print

from $29.00

STORY

Late April in the English countryside is something to behold. The days grow longer and the late afternoon light makes everything glow. Lower Benefield is a sleepy little village with the most striking church yard. Walking up a narrow lane leads you to a gate flanked by ancient trees standing guard. The approach to the church as you emerge from under the leafy canopy takes my breath away every time. On this particular day, the fragrant apple blooms and cherry trees added another dimension to the experience. I find English church yards some of the most peaceful places in the the countryside. I often think to myself, I wouldn’t mind my final resting spot to be under the shade of a chestnut tree where primrose and snowdrops grow.
